A seminar on analyzing climate change vulnerability, adaptation and resilience of South Asian workers in Dubai, UAE from a capital based approach. It will mainly focus on empirical data demonstrating the conditions of South Asian workers in Dubai relative to climate change biophysical as well as socioeconomic impacts. Additionally, responses to climate change relative to marginalized groups will be discussed, briefly highlighting the potential of transformational adaptation.

About the Speaker

nadine-sulimanNadine Suliman is a visiting researcher at ICCCAD. She has recently graduated from the University of Manchester with an MSc. in International development: Environment, Climate Change and Development. Prior to that, she has worked in the field of development and environmental consulting in Egypt for two years where she collaborated with donor organizations, governmental and private sector on a diverse variety of projects including the National Enabling Framework for Solid Waste Management in Egypt (funded by GIZ), Palestine Environmental Information Systems (UNDP), Zero Waste Management Plan (Nestle & Mars factories), and Monitoring and Evaluation Guide and Framework for Donor Projects (Palestinian Water Authority).
