The next instalment of the ICCCAD Seminar Series will take place at 3 pm on Thursday, September 10. Fahad Haider will presenting in a seminar titled Climate Skeptics: “It’s all just a myth”

About the seminar

People working in Bangladesh should have no problem accepting the fact that climate change is a serious ongoing dilemma. However, in other countries, where the effects are not as prominent, there is still debate whether CC is actually a real thing! The people opposing CC are known as climate skeptics, and they come from different places with different socioeconomic backgrounds. Living in Australia and working with CC have exposed me to a lot of these skeptics, and I thought of sharing my experiences/findings with everyone. Though some of these examples are quite hilarious, the influence that some of these skeptics hold is quite shocking. And they are using this influence to spread their beliefs to a lot more people. Due to these reasons, it will be good to be aware of the climate skeptics and know how to deal with them.

About the speaker

Fahad has completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree (Major in Electronics) from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. Since high school, he has been passionate about Climate Change and its effects, and that has led him to work with different organisations in Bangladesh, USA and Australia. He is currently working with ICCCAD to understand how Bangladesh is doing with Climate Change adaptation and mitigation, and finds it quite inspiring to see how people are responding. Fahad will be going back to Sydney in October, and plans to showcase his findings to different organisations there.
