The next instalment of the ICCCAD Seminar Series will take place on Saturday, September 19 at 11 am. Dr. Md. Taibur Rahman will be speaking in a seminar titled ‘Brief on the Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100: Approach and progress of the preparation so far’.

About the speaker

Dr. Md. Taibur Rahman has over 14 years of professional experience as a civil servant, researcher, academician, consultant, and development planner & practitioner. He is a trained Urban and Regional Planner and did his Bachelor, MSc. And Doctor of Engineering degree in Urban and Regional Planning field. As an officer of Bangladesh Civil Service (Economic) Cadre since May 2001, he has worked in various departments including General Economics Division and Physical Infrastructure Division of Bangladesh Planning Commission, Dutch funded Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100 Formulation Project, GoB funded Support to ICT Taskforce Project, World Bank funded Economic Management TA Project and Economic Relations Division of Ministry of Finance, GoB etc. in various capacities. Since January 2009, he was on deputation for Doctor of Engineering study. During his Doctoral research, he has also worked as the Project Coordinator of a large research project in Dhaka entitled ‘Mega city mega challenge- informal dynamics of global change’ funded by the German Science Foundation. Dr. Rahman has worked in the NGO sector for two years at the beginning of his career. He has also worked as a Visiting Research Fellow for climate resilience research project of the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium in the University of Southern Alabama, USA and as a consultant of a large municipal planning project of the University of Philippines. He has multi-country work experience in Germany, Philippines and USA.
