International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) and International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and General Economic Division (GED), Planning Commission, Government of Bangladesh will be holding a learning hub event on ‘Monitoring & Evaluation and Tracking Climate Finance Effectiveness’. The event will be chaired by Dr. Shamsul Alam, Member (Senior Secretary), GED, Planning Commission and facilitated by Dr. Saleemul Huq, Director, ICCCAD.
Learning hub event aims to provide an up-to-date understanding of currents structures, modalities and processes of global and national climate finance. It outlines issues for consideration to inform how National planning systems can be positioned to best access, govern and deliver these funds incorporating proper Monitoring & Evaluation system. Successful monitoring and evaluation is needed to improve the project, highlight the successes and achievements and raise the profile of the project to the national to local community. Subsequently, a good governance of finance is important for assuring that resources will be appropriately allocated, spending tracked and results generated. This will further support Bangladesh to draw down additional finance for more appropriate investments. The presentations and the following discussion will draw from global and regional experience.
