International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) and International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and General Economic Division (GED), Planning Commission, Government of Bangladesh will be holding a learning hub event on ‘Climate Change and Migration’. The event will be chaired by Dr. Shamsul Alam, Member (Senior Secretary), GED, Planning Commission and facilitated by Dr. Saleemul Huq, Director, ICCCAD.

Learning Hub Event aims to support the Planning Commission of Government of Bangladesh to set up a learning/knowledge hub for enabling knowledge exchange and dialogues on climate resilient development planning. This month’s event will be on Climate Change and Migration.  Expected outcomes of the event will include pointing out the link between climate change and migration in developing countries such as Bangladesh as well as integrating the climate-induced displacement issue into the mainstream policy framework as an important matter of concern for the future. The event is open for all concerned and line ministries and national and international organizations to share their experiences in regards to combat climate change through finding better synergies. The presentations and the following discussions of the event will draw from global and regional experiences.
