The next instalment of the ICCCAD Seminar Series will be held on Thursday, November 6 at 3 pm in the ICCCAD Conference Room.
Sarder Shafiqul Alam will be presenting in a seminar titled “Effective adaptation strategies in reducing climate change related disaster risks in the coastal region in Bangladesh”
About the speaker
Sarder Shafiqul Alam is a Senior Researcher at ICCCAD and coordinator for the GIBIKA programme. He has previously worked been involved with the ARCAB project as the field research coordinator. He has over 25 years of experience of research, capacity building, project implementation, monitoring and organizing international conference. He has coordinated and supervised more than 25 field base research projects. He also monitored and implemented projects in various fields including adaptation to climate change, water resources, fisheries, forestry, socio-economic, rural and urban environment in Bangladesh.
About the seminar
Sarder has recently participated at the IARU Sustainability Science Congress held in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 22-24, where he gave a presentation on community-based adaptation, followed by a press conference. In this week’s seminar, he will be sharing his presentation as well as his experiences and learnings from the event.
