ICCCAD is organizing a 3-day long training workshop for BBC Media Action personnel on ‘Climate Change and Disaster Management’, starting at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 19. Four key issues will be addressed at this workshop: Political Economy & Climate Change; Disaster Risks & Management; Adaptation, Mitigation & Resilience and Climate Change Science. The primary takeaways from the training sessions are as follows:
- Gain basic ideas about the science behind Climate Change
- Understand how disaster and climate change relate
- Learn about disasters and how they are managed
- Know about some important coping strategies
- Link political economy to climate change
Dr. Saleemul Huq will be a facilitator at this event and will be speaking on the topic of ‘Political Economy of Climate Change: National and Global Context’.
