This instalment of ICCCAD Seminar will take place at 1:30 pm on Thursday, October 29. Sarwar Hossain will be presenting in a seminar titled ‘Modelling ecosystem services and human wellbeing using system dynamic approach for managing socio-ecological system’
About the seminar
This seminar will give a brief of the concept safe operating for social-ecological system and followed by modelling the ecosystem services and human wellbeing which is the pre-essential phase before defining the safe operating space. Thus, participatory modelling (focus group discussion and workshops with the stakeholders) has been used to develop conceptual system dynamic models, which also include the feedbacks and the biophysical threshold within the system. Initial results from the field work will be presented in this seminar. Preliminary approach for validating system dynamic model also will be discussed. Moreover, this seminar will be used as a feedback session before simulating the social-ecological system using system dynamic approach.
About the speaker
Sarwar Hossain is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Southampton and also a Visiting Researcher at ICCCAD.
