The next instalment of the ICCCAD Seminar Series will be taking place at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 23 at the ICCCAD Office, Apartment A-5, 98 Park Road, Baridhara. Andrew Jenkins will be speaking in a seminar titled ‘Monitoring & Evaluation Systems’.

About the seminar

Systematic Monitoring and Evaluation is an essential part of project planning and implementation, since it provides essential feed-back which make it possible to determine the extent to which objectives are being achieved and which changes are necessary to improve performance. Simple principles for practical and effective Monitoring and Evaluation are proposed, based on 40 years experience in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating rural development projects.

About the speaker

Andrew Jenkins rejoined BRAC after 30 years in 2009, when he became the BRAC Donor Liaison Officer, and subsequently also the coordinator of the Impact Assessment Unit, Research and Evaluation Division. Andrew first came to Bangladesh in 1975 with Oxfam and worked in BRAC during 1977-80, as part of the team which established the first Training and Resource Centre and in the emergency team working in Rowmari and Sherpur. During this period he contributed to the BRAC study:‘The Net: Power Structure in Ten Villages’. He and his wife Jan were married in Armenitola, Dhaka in 1979 and have two sons. After BRAC and studying for an MSc in England, they spent six years in Noakhali in Char Jabbar working on land reclamation and settlement and  Andrew subsequently worked in Khulna and Patuakhali as well as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, India and Albania.
