Charlotte Hugman is a visiting researcher at ICCCAD. She is currently studying for her MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College, London, with a particular focus on climate finance, climate justice, and business and environmental human rights. Prior to starting the MSc she studied Law and German at the University of Bristol, with an Erasmus year at the University of Würzburg. She then trained and worked for several years in London as a corporate lawyer, focusing primarily on the commercial agreements and financing of energy and infrastructure projects. After qualifying in 2015 she travelled to Hong Kong, Thailand, Myanmar, India and Nepal, and was in Nepal during the Gorkha earthquake of April 2015. This experience led her to re-focus her career and research on contributing to solutions for climate change and environmental issues. Her current MSc thesis research is on the role of public-private partnerships in sourcing adaptation finance from the Green Climate Fund.
